PTE Academic Accepted for Australian visas.

PTE Academic has been used to prove English proficiency for student visas in Australia for the past five years. However, the Department of Immigration & Border Protection (DIBP) now accepts PTE Academic for temporary graduate, skilled, work and holiday, and former resident visa programmes as well.

Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, announced:

“This development affords applicants more choice in providers while also increasing competition within the English language testing market.”

Since the Australian government accepted PTE Academic for student visas in 2009, the test has been rapidly adopted across the country. PTE Academic is accepted by every Australian university as well as professional associations.

PTE Academic test centres operate in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

To use PTE Academic to apply for an Australian visa, test takers simply need to indicate that they are using the test for Australian visa purposes when they are asked at the question at registration.
